AFRICAN TULIP HOUSE

Facts & Figure

Location

Tumbaco (Quito - Ecuador)

Design Year

2018

Area

6447.6 ft²

At the heart of this house stands the majestic African Tulip tree, the central axis and true protagonist of the design. Surrounded by a reflecting pool that mirrors the sky and surrounding nature, the tree organizes the home’s layout and offers a profound sense of peace and contemplation. The residence blends organic design with natural harmony, featuring double-height social areas and privileged views of the Cotopaxi Volcano from the master bedroom. A glass bridge connects the main volumes, allowing for an architectural walk in full connection with the tree canopy and the surrounding landscape.
